Job Description

IOP (intensive outpatient program) serves SCASD students in grades 6-12.  This is a unique partnership between UPMC and SCASD. The Intensive Outpatient Program supports adolescents who need treatment/services due to a psychiatric condition that is interfering with their ability to function successfully within the community/school. This program is designed to avoid a higher level of care or to use as a step-down service within a mental health continuum. Youth may receive psychiatric evaluations, medication management services, individual, group, or family counseling.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $7,000 for a 2-year work commitment!



Responsibilities:

Clinical Assessment & Treatment

  • Conduct patient assessments, evaluate treatment needs, and develop individualized treatment plans that address changing clinical needs.
  • Provide individual and group therapy, engage families when appropriate, and educate patients on recovery and wellness.

Care Coordination & Case Management

  • Collaborate with the clinical team to review cases, discuss service needs, and coordinate referrals to appropriate levels of care and community resources.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings to monitor progress, update treatment plans, and support continuing care recommendations.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment sessions, case management activities, and productivity records.
  • Submit clinical information to support service authorizations and ensure compliance with program and payer requirements.

Quality & Program Improvement

  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Review patient progress and significant clinical changes with supervisors and other clinical staff as appropriate.
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required. (Successfully completed the educational requirements as defined in practicing state's code)

  • One year of clinical experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred.

  • Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.

ATTENTION: A COPY OF YOUR MASTER'S DEGREE LEVEL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION. 

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Passed the examination required by 49.11. relating to licensure examination. Must sign a license agreement and be actively working to obtain the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), or Licensed Family Marriage Therapist (LMFT) within 30 months of hire.

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
