Key Responsibilities and Duties
Serve as the lead Finance Business Partner supporting IT and Innovation leadership. Oversee development of departmental goals, objectives, operating budgets, and annual plans. Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and operating plan processes. Communicate financial targets and expectations to business leaders. Develop labor utilization plans and support function staffing forecasts. Prepare and deliver executive-level financial presentations. Oversee business case development and capital governance documentation. Partner with stakeholders to improve business processes and operational efficiency. Lead identification, quantification, and implementation of process improvements. Review financial results against budgets and forecasts while investigating significant variances. Monitor capital projects and adjust forecasts as project plans evolve. Monitor operations and maintenance expenses to support corporate financial objectives. Support regulatory filings, rate cases, trackers, regulatory assets, and liabilities. Perform or oversee accounting activities including accruals, project setup, work orders, and expense coding. Lead budgeting system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and user training. Develop ad hoc financial reports and analyses. Maintain expertise in GAAP and FERC classifications. Mentor and guide junior finance professionals. Lead special projects and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications Needed
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, Marketing, or related field. Minimum 7+ years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, or business partnering. Strong experience supporting business leaders and executive stakeholders. Experience with annual operating plans, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Strong background in capital planning, capital project accounting, and business case development. Experience with GAAP accounting principles. Knowledge of FERC accounting and regulatory environments preferred. Proven ability to improve financial processes and lead cross-functional initiatives. Experience presenting financial information to senior leadership. Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills. MBA, CPA, or CGMA strongly preferred. Energy, utility, power, or regulated industry experience preferred.
